Fundamentals of Concealed Carry

The Fundamentals of Concealed Carry - like the home defense class - is equally comprehensive in the material covered. But this class has a significantly greater amount of time shooting on the range.
This concealed carry class will introduce you to the core concepts of Combat Focus® Shooting - intuitive shooting. Knowing how the body will instinctively and naturally react to a lethal threat and then - through frequent and realistic training - learn how to intuitively respond to that threat.
The classes are broken into two segments on two separate days for your convenience. The classroom portion is taught in your home. On another day you'll participate in the live fire segment on a range. In this way, you won't have to be inconvenienced by a 4- or 5-hour class.
In the classroom portion of the course you'll become familiar with the handguns that are best for concealed carry and how they might differ from your home defense handgun.
And most importantly, you’ll learn how to deploy your handgun efficiently in the context of what we call a Dynamic Critical Incident or, in more simpler terms, a potentially lethal attack in public that occurs more than two arms length away.
We’ll also cover all of the shooting skills taught in the home defense class - including Combat Accuracy and the Balance of Speed and Precision - but you’ll practice it to a much greater degree.
A primary difference in this concealed carry class from the home defense class is that you’ll learn to deploy your handgun from a holster.
You’ll learn the most efficient way to do so in the various ways you’d most likely carry. And you’ll practice that, too, so that you’ll become much more proficient.
And I’ll help you understand the various holster options and help you navigate through the hundreds of choices you can make - helping you to avoid the bad choices.
And of course, you’ll learn how to deal with law enforcement when they arrive on the scene.
Dealing with the WHO, the WHAT, the WHY, the WHERE, the WHEN and the HOW.
And knowing how to keep your interaction with the police to a minimum while, at the same time, providing the information they need and pointing out what’s important to them that they didn’t know.
The Concealed Carry class runs about 5 hours with about 30% in the classroom and 70% on the range.
Equipment required: Handgun (.380ACP and up), 250 rounds of ammunition, strong side or appendix holster, magazine carriers, eye and ear protection, at least three magazines, sturdy footwear, warrior attitude and an inquiring mind.
